Why Choose Glacier Glass?
Low-E stands for Low-Emissivity, which means the window glass is coated with a low-emittance material that reduces ultraviolet (UV) and infrared energy by reflecting or absorbing solar radiation. The two main benefits of Low-E glass are: first, it repels UV rays that cause heat buildup in the summer; and second, it absorbs solar energy to let heat in during the winter. This smart technology helps lower your energy bills year-round while keeping your home comfortable in every season.
Argon gas is an odorless, non-toxic gas injected between panes of sealed glass to enhance a window’s insulation and improve soundproofing. By increasing the R-Value of windows or doors, argon minimizes heat exchange, helps reduce condensation and frost buildup in cold or humid climates, and contributes to better energy efficiency. Unlike oxygen, argon won’t corrode window materials, helping extend the overall lifespan of your windows.
A dual sealed unit consists of two panes of glass separated by a Super Spacer and sealed around the perimeter. For optimal insulation and reduced heat transfer, Low-E glass is paired with argon gas inside the unit. Dual pane windows are a cost-effective option that improve energy efficiency, reduce noise, and offer long-term comfort with multiple benefits
A triple sealed unit consists of three panes of glass, separated by two Super Spacers and sealed at the perimeter. For maximum insulation and minimal heat transfer, Low-E glass is combined with argon gas between the panes. The additional layer of glass significantly increases the overall insulation value compared to a dual sealed unit, and also provides enhanced noise reduction. If you’re looking for the best performance in all seasons, this is your top-tier option.
It’s all about knowing what Saskatchewan has to throw at us. That’s why we stand behind our products and installation services with confidence. Extreme weather conditions are what separate quality products from the rest. As a local Regina business, Glacier Glass understands what it takes to withstand -50°C winters and scorching summer heat. The products we sell have been rigorously tested to handle everything Saskatchewan’s climate can throw at them.

If you’re thinking about replacing your windows, you’ve probably asked…
Can a New Door Really Lower My A/C Bill?
Yes and not just in theory. An inefficient front or back door can increase your cooling costs by 10-20%, depending on how bad the leaks are. In a place like Saskatchewan, where you’re dealing with extreme temperatures year-round, a high-performance door helps your HVAC system work smarter, not harder.
